Q: What is your turn-around time? How long will it take to receive my order?
A: Because we sew each custom collar when it is ordered, it usually takes 6-10 days to complete and ship an order. Our collars are individually made with love and care right here in Montana. If your order is for one of our ready-to-ship collars, it will normally be sent within 1-2 business days of receipt of the order and payment. All retail orders ship by USPS.
Q: How do I know what size to order? How do I measure to get the best fit?
A: Unless otherwise specified, our collars are adjustable. Measure your dog's neck as you normally would to fit a collar- snug but not uncomfortable on the neck where the collar will be. We recommend that the collar will be loose enough to be comfortable and tight enough to stay on when walking with you on a leash. The neck measurement should fit between the two measurements listed for a size. (i.e. a 15" neck could wear a small, which fits 12" to 15" necks, but would probably be a better fit and more comfortable in a medium, which fits 14" to 18"). For martingale collars, measure your dog around the circumference of the dog’s skull at the widest point in front of the ears. Next, take the actual circumference at smallest point of the throat, just behind the ears and jaw bone. Finally, measure the widest circumference at the center of the neck between the skull and top of the shoulders (withers). Q: How do I wash my Collar when the time arrives?
A: You may wash these collars as you would wash a set of jeans, or you can handwash your collars in mild detergent, OR you can wash them inside a lingerie bag (or knotted pillowcase) on the delicate cycle and let them air dry. We suggest air drying to avoid unnecessary shrinkage that hot dryers may cause. Unless stated otherwise in the specific collar description, our collars are all washable.
Q: What about wear and tear?
Cotton collars will eventually show wear and fray over time just like our jeans do. Please be responsible to check your companion’s collar and replace it when signs of wear become evident. It is also important to be sure that a bored dog is not chewing the collar (sorry, yes, it does happen).
Q: What is the best cat collar for my kitty best friend?
A: Please be sure to get a collar that is designed to release your cat when she struggles against it after getting tangled and "trapped". Cats naturally explore and go places we do not necessarily anticipate. The best cat collar will have a buckle that will break away and release your friend so she may return to you.
Q: Why should I use a break-away collar on my cat? What makes this cat collar design different than small dog collars?
A: When you look at the clips on the best cat collars, you will notice that one side of the two insert legs of the clip is flat and the other is rounded out. Dog collar clips have both insert pieces rounded out. The flat side on one of the clip insert pieces makes it possible for a cat to pull the collar connection open if it gets caught on a fence, in the wood pile, under the porch and so forth. The dog collar clips will not pull open when the cat struggles to extricate himself from whatever is restraining him. Please be sure to keep your cat safe by using a collar designed for safety as well as identifying your special cat as a family member. Remember, cat collars are not designed to be used with a leash because if the cat pulls and struggles against the leash, she will be released just as if she was caught in the woods.

Q: I want to walk my cat with a leash. Will a cat collar work for this?
A: Sorry, but no, cat collars are designed to release. As a result, if the cat struggles or tugs against the leash, the cat collar will release. You will be holding a leash and collar without a cat. If you want to walk your cat on a leash, please use an appropriately sized regular (dog) collar or a harness. Remember, if you walk your cat on leash, please put the breakaway collar back on the cat when you return from your walk.
We do offer special harnesses that have been used for friends walking their cats on leash. It is safer for the cat and shows you care deeply for your friend by keeping him safe. These are currently not listed, but e-mail us, and we will work with you to create a custom-fit harness for your special cat.
Q: Why not get a small dog collar for my cat?
A: A dog collar is designed to stay on. The clips on a dog collar are both rounded to prevent them from pulling open when the dog struggles against the collar such as trying to pull against the leash. If you use a dog collar on your cat, he may not be able to free himself should he become undesireably caught.
Q: What methods of payment do you accept?
A: We understand our clients want transactions to be simple and safe. To protect our clients and offer them the most payment options, we offer product payment through PayPal. PayPal is free for buyers and allows you to instantly send payments using your credit card or bank account if you prefer. PayPal offers you 100% protection against unauthorized payments on your account and sends you confirmation of all transactions within 24 hours (usually instantly). In addition, PayPal offers the buyer dispute resolution and buyer protections. Once an order is sent, you will also receive a notice from PayPal that postage has been paid for the package and giving you a tracking number to follow the progress of your package.
We also will accept money orders and cashiers checks made payable to ARIC, Inc. Orders will ship once we receive your payment and it is successfully cleared by our bank. Q: Can orders be placed by mail?
A. Yes, we will accept mail orders. Use the shopping cart to complete your order. Then print it out. Send the printed order with your cashiers check or money order. We will process your request as soon as we receive it just like we do our on-line orders.
Q: Does CollarCrazy.com share my personal information with others?
A: We will not sell or rent your personally identifiable information to anyone. We respect your privacy and will not share your information.
Q: What is your return policy?
A: Order processing errors that are our fault will be quickly corrected at our expense. Once you receive your collar, if you notice we made a mistake, please contact us immediately and return the unused collar. The mistake will be corrected, and a new collar will be sent to you.
Please make sure you check your measurements, ask questions, and are happy with your selection before you checkout. We are a small business and unable to accept returns or exchanges.
If you realize after placing your order that you ordered the wrong size, color, or design, contact us immediately, and we will be happy to make the changes to your order before it is made. However, if the order has been completed, you are responsible for the cost.
PLEASE, we can't stress this enough, PLEASE measure your dog if you are unsure what size you need. Contact us with any questions you may have before you order. We cannot be held responsible if your collar does not fit because you ordered the wrong size.
